GupShup Community Guidelines

GupShup enables you to create groups of friends and send messages to their mobile phones. Here are some guidelines that you should follow when you use GupShup group messaging services:

  • Permission Based Invites Only: You are advised to add only those members to your groups who you know personally or those who have given you their permission.
  • No Spam: Do not send any spam or unsolicited message to promote any commerical transaction in relation to any goods, investments or services to any member of the GupShup community.
  • No Objectionable Content: Do not send messages with hate speech, inappropriate or obscene content that may offend your members or violate GupShup Terms of Service
  • No Commercial Use: Do not post any unauthorized advertisements, promotions, offers or discounts in messages
  • No Communication of GupShup Policies: Do not post any message related to SMS GupShup policies in an unauthorized manner
  • No Copyrighted Material: Do not use copyrighted material (name, image, logo, etc.) without necessary authorization

A few tips for using GupShup

  • Be mindful of time and frequency of your group messages
  • It's good practice to call up your friends and inform them about your GupShup group before you add them to your group
  • Please do not post at inappropriate hours; before 7am or after 10pm
  • Please do not send invites to a random collection of phone numbers
  • Please have a nickname that help receiver of your group messages identify you
  • Do not post abusive or offensive content
  • Be mindful of others privacy concerns
